What do you do when you're fishing for bass in muddy urban ponds? How do you get adjusted? What to look out for? Read all about my perspective on muddy water fishing here.

With the right approach, mindset and techniques, muddy water doesn't always equate to tough fishing conditions, not when the water temperature is predominantly warm during the summer months or if you're fishing in the tropics. To me, muddy water is a 'condition' that you just got to get yourself tuned in. I grew up fishing muddy water ponds and lakes, some with visibility so poor, that your bait literally vanish the moment it submerges and I can tell you that I've had some of the best memories on muddy water.

Besides live bait, the 4” Yum Dinger has bailed me out of numerous super-tough conditions.

Releasing a fish so that other anglers get to catch it someday.

I often say, as an angler, you got to have confidence wherever you fish. Though Toulouse, France was where I cut my teeth bass fishing, I find bass fishing relates pretty well to snakehead fishing because I felt right at home on waters where bass live, wherever that may be. Bass fishing was like second nature to me and not even cold fronts or muddy water could hold me back on that very special day featured in this article.

I don't claim to be an expert on muddy water bass fishing then or now, but if you think you could pattern snakehead in muddy water, I'm sure you could do the same in bass fishing.
