Daiwa RPM Crank MID-10 crankbaits (distributed by TCE Sports Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia).

In the world of bass fishing, I bet that the very first lure most of us recall throwing is the crankbait. In my view, the crankbait is one of the most exciting and fun reaction baits out there. From shallow to deep water, there's a crankbait for any condition out there.

Ever since I moved here from Malaysia, I've somewhat lost touch of the thrills and fun of crankbait fishing only because I've lost more crankbaits than fish I've actually caught. Well, that's the reality. If you fish with crankbaits on the bank, you're bound to loose some in snags, if you fish on the bank. Compared to other baits, most crankbaits don't come cheap either.

Each box contains 4x Daiwa RPM Crank (courtesy of TCE Sports Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia).

Daiwa RPM Crank MID-10 in various colours but mine came with 2 yellow-chartreuse crawdads.

A few weeks back, I received a box of Daiwa RPM Crank MID-10 from my sponsors in Malaysia (TCE Sports Sdn. Bhd.) and they are absolute awesome. I'm not just saying that because I got these for free, it's because these are baits used by anglers in the pro circuit and one of them being Elite Series Daiwa pro Yusuke Miyazaki.

Unlike some crankbaits which are loaded with various fancy tech., the design and feel of the RPM Crank is reminiscent of the classic crankbait. The ones that I received are silent type. According to the specs., the MID-10 can dive down to about 1.2 to 3m deep.

A classic crankbait by Daiwa. No fancy tech., no rattles and no long-cast system.

A closer look at the Daiwa RPM Crank MID-10.

Though I've not had the chance to fish with any of these, I can tell you that the finishing and quality is very good, as with most Daiwa baits. If you look closely, the bait is fitted with a red hook on the front and a black one on the rear. Sometimes, I do that, but Daiwa is the probably the first that I know factory-fit hooks this way.

Until the next time, fish hard and fish well!
