Flood report (Part 1)

For those of you who live in England, this isn't news because we are pretty much under siege by nature with all the rain and flood for weeks till now. Well, unless if you're an angler, I should advice you to not take this 'flood report' too seriously.

All set and ready to go. But, ...

Once again, in just a matter of weeks, the conditions at the Grand Union Canal have turned from bad to worse. The water level must have risen by about a meter or so. Now, in terms of fishing, it was like fishing in dead water because nothing seems to be responding to anything, so to speak.

Despite the appalling conditions, I thought I'd make the most out of the couple of hours I had for the morning as I ventured downstream. From then on, things were predictable because there weren't even the slightest sign of activity in the water. I soon realized that it was one of those days. Frankly, after all my years spent here, it still baffles me as to why the species in this country are so easily affected by the changes in conditions. I wonder why...

Conditions aren't looking good for most of the rivers and connected canals in the East Midlands region. Most of the footpath remains submerged.

A rather fishy looking spot but nobody's home.

Nothing at all along the weed line. I wonder if there's even fish in the water.

As the saying goes: "never try, never know". Only then, I tried just about anything and I think I knew (period).
